Hector Diaz

Hector Diaz appeared as Lauren Salzman's counsel on Day 7, when the court addressed privilege issues ahead of her anticipated testimony the following morning. The court asked Diaz to confer with Raniere's counsel about the joint defense agreement. It allowed either Diaz or Marc Agnifilo to request a sidebar before Salzman answered a question that might implicate that agreement, so the privilege issue could be resolved before the answer entered the public record.

The court also acknowledged a letter from Diaz but had not received a statement from NXIVM's counsel defining its separate corporate privilege claims. It scheduled a discussion with corporate counsel for the following morning without the public present; the scope of those claims remained unresolved.
