About

Jim Del Negro appeared in Mark Vicente's testimony as a NXIVM proctor, an Albany center co-owner and overseer, and a Society of Protectors leader. Vicente also placed him in NXIVM's informal legal department, which he said was not staffed by lawyers. Describing the men's group's operations, Vicente said Del Negro handled its books. He testified that he could not understand the accounting and had urged Raniere to use someone with relevant expertise, but Raniere preferred that Del Negro continue.

Del Negro also participated in an October 29, 2012 Society of Protectors planning meeting about vows, commitment, leadership and Raniere's authority. Vicente authenticated the recording, which the court admitted as Government's Exhibit 1002, and identified Del Negro's voice when the defense played additional portions during cross-examination. Lauren Salzman separately testified that Sarah's husband confronted her and Del Negro at a June 2017 coach summit as DOS became publicly known. In closing, Marc Agnifilo named Del Negro among NXIVM associates while arguing that images of Camila did not share the alleged enterprise's common purpose. This was a defense argument, not a court finding.
