Rosa Laura Junco
First-line DOS member.
About
Lauren Salzman described Rosa Laura Junco as a first-line DOS master who recruited her in January 2017 and explained that her lifetime vow of obedience would be to Keith Raniere. Salzman testified that Junco rejected an initial account of wrongdoing as collateral because it implicated Raniere and would therefore be difficult for him to release. Junco instead suggested naked photographs, accepted them on a USB drive, and explained the proposed branding. Salzman also identified Junco as head of the collateral committee, responsible for reviewing, cataloging, storing, and assessing collateral. Salzman did not know where Junco's holdings ultimately went. On cross-examination, she acknowledged their close friendship and said Junco's explanation of branding as overcoming pain for principle had appealed to her.
Other testimony addressed Junco's activities outside DOS. Sylvie identified Junco as her coach and said she relayed Raniere's suggestion that Sylvie and her husband refrain from sex for two years, a restriction they agreed to follow. Mark Vicente testified that he understood Junco ran an educational program at her home for girls from the LeBaron community, while acknowledging that he did not know its exact nature. Separately, Richard Guerci agreed that documents showed Raniere relinquishing the executor role in Pam Cafritz's estate to Junco while remaining sole beneficiary through a trust.
