Daniela testified that she flew to Canada under a plan devised by Raniere and received false identification from Kathy Russell for a planned Christmas Eve crossing into the United States. The defense disputed Russell's meeting with Daniela and argued that the testimony did not establish Raniere's agreement to use another real person's identity. Michael Weniger also identified Canada-based investigative firm Canaprobe as the source of purported banking information found in files introduced as evidence.
