About

Mark Vicente identified Emiliano Salinas as a leader of NXIVM's Mexican operations alongside Alex Betancourt, a member of the executive board formed in 2009, and part of Keith Raniere's trusted group. Nicole described becoming friends with Salinas at V-Week 2015 and trusting his reassurance that Raniere did not seek the idolization she found troubling. Lauren Salzman identified Salinas among recipients of requests for the return of DOS collateral. She also described a later meeting in which he said he was leaving NXIVM. Salzman testified that she conveyed her understanding that Raniere wanted someone to persuade Nicole to change her account, but said Salinas was not going to do it and, to her knowledge, did not approach Nicole.

Salinas also appeared in email and financial-search evidence. Google custodian Daniel O'Donnell identified subscriber records listing his name for thebeacon2009@gmail.com, while explaining that users supply subscriber information. The court admitted the subscriber exhibit without defense objection. In a separate evidentiary argument, prosecutors contended that emails involving Salinas showed efforts to obtain financial information on perceived NXIVM enemies, rather than proving the purported bank accounts were real. The defense argued that Canaprobe supplied false records and that Kristin Keeffe should testify; the judge requested the documents for review without resolving admissibility in that discussion. FBI agent Michael Weniger later described verification efforts involving Salinas. Weniger believed most or all of Canaprobe's information was untrue, but expressed uncertainty, and testified that the documents indicated participants sought real banking information and seemed to believe what they received.
