About

Loreta Garza appeared in Mark Vicente's testimony as an earlier NXIVM executive-board member and the head of Rainbow Cultural Garden, who also worked with clients and staff in Mexico. Vicente said she ran the children's program under Raniere's mentorship. In questioning about staffing, he testified that the MDSs, or nannies, lacked teaching and language qualifications. The only selection process he remembered involved Garza showing Raniere photographs of prospective workers so he could suggest who should be admitted.

Lauren Salzman identified Garza as a first-line DOS master and named her among those with whom she said she obtained collateral under false pretenses and extorted further property. Salzman testified that Garza created the first-line group's readiness-drill buddy chart, admitted without objection as Government Exhibit 359. She also said Garza usually recorded DOS meetings attended by Raniere and maintained a drive containing recordings and other organized information. Garza was also a recipient of Raniere's October 18, 2017 draft position statement distancing him from DOS, admitted as Government Exhibit 1321. Salzman testified that the statement misrepresented his involvement.
